When WordPress makes sense.
WordPress is worth considering when your site needs several kinds of content: service pages, articles, project work or a product catalog. The starting question is what you need to publish and who will update it.
A service business may need editable case studies and enquiry pages. A product business may need a catalog first, with purchasing added only if the sales process calls for it. We agree on those requirements before selecting themes, plugins or custom development.
If most of your requirements revolve around a standard online store, Shopify development is another route to discuss. A specialist workflow may call for a custom application.
Decide what belongs in the build.
- Page structure & design
- Navigation, page templates and responsive layouts matched to your content and audience.
- Content editing
- The text, images, articles and other fields you need to update, with editing controls agreed in the scope.
- Forms & integrations
- Enquiry routing, external services and data flows reviewed before choosing plugins or writing custom code.
- Store requirements
- Product types, variants, payment options and order handling scoped separately when ecommerce is needed.
- Launch & handover
- Checks of the agreed features, deployment arrangements and an explanation of the areas you will manage.
Bring the business context.
Send a short explanation of your business, who the website is for and what you want visitors to do. An existing website, rough page list, brand assets and a few references help us define the work.
Tell us which content is ready and which still needs to be prepared. For an existing site, we also need to understand the content and URLs to retain, the current hosting arrangement and the integrations already in use. Access is arranged privately when it is needed.
The quote should identify the page templates, content work, features, review stages and launch responsibilities. Hosting, domain renewals, paid themes or plugins and ongoing maintenance are separate items to clarify before work starts.
The practical details.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes, when content editing is included in the agreed scope. We define the areas you will manage and show you how to edit them at handover. A custom layout does not have to mean changing code for every text update.
Can you work on an existing WordPress website?
We can discuss redesigns, functionality changes and performance work. The first step is reviewing the existing theme, plugins, content and hosting so the quote reflects the current setup.
How much will it cost, and how long will it take?
Both depend on page templates, content readiness, custom features, integrations and review rounds. Share your requirements, budget range and preferred launch date so we can propose a defined scope and schedule.
Does the build include SEO and maintenance?
We agree on SEO tasks and post-launch support in the quote. Page titles, crawlability and redirects are different tasks from ongoing content work. Updates, backups and maintenance also need a clear owner after handover.
